Perhaps we need to call them on their expensive toll-free numbers fairly often and share our frustrations with them so that they can take mercy on us out here, and, perhaps, send them some Gift Magazine Subscriptions or add them to interesting by-Postal-Mail-advertising mass Mailing Lists to give them something better to do than dream up ways to jam OUR mailboxes, no??? - It will also help our financially-strapped USPS!! :-)

Remember, however, that EVEN if you block/disable your Caller-ID, owners of 800-Numbers STILL have access to that information! - Disabling/blocking your Phone Number does NOT work when calling an 800-type number because "they are paying for the call" and the Telcos have caved in to their pressures.. SO, don't get any strange ideas, like having your Modem program dial their numbers all night!! :-(
